On June 22, 2024, the Figure It Out project hosted its fourth bonfire storytelling event in Orléans, France, as part of the Festival Re/Dé-Connecte under the Human Tech Days program. Organized in collaboration with Labomedia and the artist collective RYBN.ORG, the gathering brought together local residents, festival attendees, and members of the FIO research team, including Valeria Graziano, Tomislav Medak, Davor Mišković, and Marcell Mars. The event was held at Labomedia’s venue, which offered an open, communal setting for the evening.

Approximately 30 people attended, both adults and children. Participants gathered around a real bonfire, which served as the focal point for the storytelling session. Food and drinks were provided, adding to the informal and relaxed atmosphere. A total of 25 stories, prepared by RYBN.ORG and the FIO team, were read aloud in both English and French. Each story was burned in the bonfire after it was read, marking the act of storytelling as temporary and emphasizing the focus on shared experiences over documentation. The stories covered a range of themes, including DIY and DIT (Do It Together) practices, technology hacking, and creative ways people adapt to restrictive systems.
